In the Chinese mythological novel Journey to the West, there is a passage describing how Sun Wukong is trapped under the Buddha’s palm at Five Finger Mountain for five hundred years. This reminds me of the degeneration of the human body—how movement itself seems to bear an invisible weight, making every step feel heavy.
In this work, a sock is pinned down, caught between two opposing forces—gravity pulling it downward while tension tries to hold it up. In this ongoing struggle, the sock constantly assumes a posture of resistance, yet ultimately, it remains unable to escape its constraints.
在中國神魔小說《西遊記》中，有一段描述孫悟空被如來佛的手掌壓在五指山下，受困五百年的情節。這讓我聯想到人類肢體的退化——在移動的過程中，彷彿也承受著無形的重壓，步履沉重。作品中那被壓制的襪子，同時受到兩股「力量」的拉扯——重力使其下墜，而拉力試圖將其撐起。在這股持續的較量中，襪子不斷呈現出試圖支撐的姿態，然而最終，仍無法擺脫束縛。

中国の『西遊記』では、孫悟空が如来の手のひらに押さえつけられ、五指山の下に500年間閉じ込められる場面があります。私はこの場面から、動くたびに目に見えない重圧のしかかり、足取りは重くなっていく身体感覚を想起しました。
作品では、圧迫された靴下が２つの「力」に引き裂かれています――重力は下へと引き込み、引っ張る力はそれを持ち上げようとします。この絶え間ない綱引きの中で、靴下は必死に支えようと踏ん張りますが、最終的には束縛から逃れることはできません。
